A great volunteer turnout with several new faces

First task, move the remaining big rocks
from the dump pile area

Put a rock in a tub and pull it over to the staging area

First on the highline today is a big bag of crush

With Jim on the Griphoist and Bill on the belay,
it's all ready to go downhill

It's a real heavy load so Bill holds on tight

We are now making crush in the staging area
and sending it down to the worksite

And yes we are still moving big rocks

Break time

After break, it's back to moving big rocks

That's an excellent crib-wall rock

Jeff monitors the next bag of crush
traveling to the worksite

At the worksite, the bag is moved out of the way

We can't build a crib-wall without big rocks

Behind the crib wall, we add steps and crush

In some places, the bedrock is hard to remove

To get this one out, we'll use the highline

OK, that one is out.
Let's go look for rocks that can be used as steps

Dave and Len have a solution, not the best solution
but we're running out of big rocks

the three rocks chosen yesterday are now in place

She stays during lunch to catch up with old friends

After lunch, it's back to moving big rocks

This will be the last step for today

Of course it will be level, they all are

Digging a base for the next the next crib-wall rock

Another big rock stuck in the ground,
just muscle, no highline, got this rock free

More challenges at the top of the hill

Removing a small dead tree stump
required the use of the highline

First rock of the day is on its way

This big rock is definitely going to be
part of the crib-wall

The chief is ready and sets it in place

We will be getting a lot accomplished today

something very cathartic about breaking big rocks

Some of this crush will go into a bag
and down the hill to the worksite

Behind the stump we removed yesterday,
a big piece of bedrock has to be removed

Using brute strength and rock bars,
… we won
