Friday morning hoping for some rain

I think we got about 12 drops

Pick your weapons

Howie is first at the worksite
and makes a plan

Dan arrives and the work begins

Another level step is going in

A lot of cribwall needs to be built
to support the new steps

Making it look like it has always been there

Topside, Marion gets the generator started

Trinity has the hammer drill
and is ready to get started

Trinity doing her hole drilling thing

Holes drilled, feather and wedges in place,
Trinity starts on the next big rock

Marion holds the water and does the brushing

After 14 minutes, Marion looks for the crack

2 minutes later and we have a crack

Back at the first rock drilled today,
I see a crack across the top

And down the side

2 more minutes, and it's a clean break

Not that rock but another one,
starts its journey downhill

It is towed to the staging area
and will be connected to the highline

Jeff attaches a sling and connects it to the highline

With Jim at the ready, it's “Tension Hoist"

Rock on the line and going downhill

Joe controls the rock using a very long belay

At the end of highline #1,
Jeff and Chris are there to receive it

They lower and slide it into position
so highline #2 can pick it up

Using the worksite highline, rocks are moved into place

Another rock goes for a tub ride

We'll nickname this one, Big and Heavy

A well deserved safety break

Let's try getting this big rock into the tub

I think we'll name this one, Big and Heavy 2.0

This would be a lot harder without the tub

With that said, It's still not easy

Mike pitches in and helps get it to the staging area

The chief describes the best way to sling it

Rock on the line

This time it's Jim on belay
and Mike on the griphoist

And the rock heads slowly and safely downhill

Topside, Marion has new holes drilled,
feather and wedges in place,
now just waiting for the crack

Less than 5 minutes later, the crack appears.
Two minutes later it fell apart

Time to secure our rock piles and pack up

End of day crew meeting.
Today we have the park to ourselves

A beautiful Saturday morning.
Marty is setup and ready to get started

Our delivery pile is almost gone.
Looks like the hammer drill has been very busy

With Sandy on belay and Linda working the griphoist,
the first rock of the day is in the air

Rich uses the hand truck to move medium size rocks
from the delivery pile to the staging pile

Down at the step building worksite,
that's Terri, off in the distance, working the griphoist

Bob is holding the worksite highline,
with a rock ready to be put in place

A dam worked best here because of the bedrock below.

A little wiggle a little nudge, until it's just right

Trinity is breaking the last few rocks in the delivery pile

In less than an hour, a beautiful straight break

The last rock of the day,
makes its way down to highline #2

Sandy works griphoist #2,
while the rock moves further downhill

Late in the day, Dan clears the trail

Ugg… it's a steep hike back up to the parking area

Linda wrestles with a very long belay line

Trinity drills the last rock standing in the delivery pile

The delivery pile is now totally empty

End of day crew meeting,
the weather is definitely getting cooler

It's a cold but sunny Sunday morning

Len is prepping the next section of new trail

All bundled up, Trinity is on belay #2

Another big rock is delivered to the step worksite

Terri making crush,
of course she is and with a great big smile

Trinity wants to try making crush,
and starts a new pile

It's all about steps, crib-wall and armor rocks

Our site is secure, time to go
we will be back in two weeks
