Highlands Trail rehabilitation resetting stepping stones - Completion

Today we are working on the Highland Trail

This part is finished

Vicki is all smiles as she holds onto the highline

Bob surveys the missing stream crossing

Chris is here and ready to get to work

Fortunately, the water is not very deep today

Putting a sling around a rock in the stream,
the water isn't deep BUT it is COLD

Hooking it to the highline took a little time

It was a tight fit, but we made it

Howie pulls it in and sets it where he needs it

Howie exclaims,
all I need is five more of these

Back to moving big rocks

Chris is on belay today

We have several griphoist operators today

Looks like Terri is up first

Another foundation stone is set into place

1- hold the block, 2- put the shackle in the sling
and 3- connect the shackle to the block

And another rock goes for a ride

Teamwork on the griphoist moved that heavy rock

First up was Vicky

Then it was Susan's turn

Next Kathy had a go at it

Nice and easy, it has to be just right

We'll stage it here and use it later

Now with full sun, the day is warming up nicely

More rocks

More belay

Bob has the next rock

This one needs a sling

Everyone is keeping really busy

Another big rock is on the line

This might be the last rock of the day

I don't know what this is,
but I think it's male bonding

Moving the rock we staged earlier
into position

By jove, I think we're almost finished

Time to take down the highline

George gives it the walk test

Terry runs right over the new stepping stones

One last look,
now it's time for a photo

Ok now pick your favorite step
