warranty repairs are needed

Fitting the broken lip back into place

A few clamps and a bit of epoxy,
and this step will be as good as new

Back at the parking lot, tools are ready,
just waiting for the crew to assemble

Just a few more large rocks left to break

Marion jumps in and starts drilling

This really cracks me up

Using a chainsaw,
Dr. Dave clears out a large pile of debris

Jeff explains to new volunteers, Ed & Justin,
how we use the tub to transport big rocks

Break time on a very hot day.
In this heat, we work slower and take longer breaks

It's all hands on deck, time to move big rocks

Back at the rock pile,
Marion continues her success at splitting big rocks

work begins on our final wall base

our final wall location has been flagged

Here we are adding a few running steps to this project

End of day crew meeting
Yikes it's 98°

Saturday morning with Clark the Park manager.
We get his approval for our design

This is the top platform rock for this entire project

The next big rock has Noah on belay,
with Jeff and Stephanie on rope-puller

Clark arrives with the Bobcat to move big rocks

We put a sling around the rock and using a shackle,
attach it to the Bobcat

Using rock bars as rails,
Clark then pulls the big rock out onto the road

Then off the road and down the hillside

A few of the smaller big rocks fit into the bucket

By the end of the day,
our final wall is taking shape

The running steps are almost complete

This rock we split earlier still needs to be trimmed

This rock didn't split in time.
We'll leave these in overnight

It was so hot the camera shut off

End of day crew meeting. Not as hot today, only 87°

Sunday morning and there's a possibility of rain today

The rock that didn't split yesterday,
split easily this morning

Beau, Sebastian and Fred,
are using a tub to move big rocks

New Volunteer Irina drilling pilot holes

Fred enlarges the holes to 5/8".
5/8" is the size we need for the feathers and wedges

After a successful trim,
Beau, Jim and Fred put it in a tub for transport

Our final wall means
we are almost finished with this project

The rain finally came so we're done for this weekend

Only one more big rock to split.
We have to harvest more big rocks
