Friday morning,
heading towards the upper staging area

We want to move most of these rocks,
downhill this weekend

Now trying bulk bags,
to move gravel and small rocks

We tested this system
with nine buckets full of gravel

Tom gives it his sign of approval,
and we're ready to go

Rock, err I mean bag in the air

While that's going on,
Trinity keeps drilling rocks

Feathers and wedges are in,
now waiting for the crack

It cracked all right,
just not where we wanted it to

All oversized rocks in the roadside pile
have been broken into pieces

Saturday morning meeting in Lot D

A different day a different rock, more drilling

At the worksite, the new trail is taking shape

Bob and Terri remove the top layer of organic material

Dr. Dave arrives with his chainsaw

First, we move some debris out of the way

He has already cut a lot of wood,
and there's a lot more to go

One more log to cut in half

This may look like just a stump to you,
but Dr. Dave sees a stool

From stump to stool

Wow! What a great stool

Now Dr. Dave has a place to sit and relax

Meanwhile, Trinity keeps drilling rocks

It won't take long for this one to crack

Here comes another big rock,
flying down the hill

T & T catch it and put it in the tub

It's a bit heavy and starts sliding out of the tub

Peter uses custom rigging
to keep the rock in the tub

Back at the top staging area,
the last rock of the day is on the line

And away it goes

It takes whole body effort
to lift this big one

Using all of the belay line
that rock will travel downhill

Today is LDTC's annual BBQ

An hour later, and Kevin is still working the grill

Sunday morning at the worksite

The new path will zigzag across the hillside
and creates a gentler up/downhill grade

After removing the old steps and reclamation,
we will put these logs in the old path
to further slow erosion and keep hikers on the trail

Looking uphill, there's more challenges ahead

At the top staging area,
Joe has selected the next rock to go downhill

Already in a sling, Joe helps it along using a rock bar

That's Terri woking the griphoist,
and keeping in shape

This really big one will be used in a crib wall

Special guest Erik will be leaving after our lunch break

After lunch, it's back to moving big rocks

Yep, Terri is back on the griphoist

At the worksite, finishing touches
are put on the eighth step built this weekend
