New project, same parking lot

Another hot July day
with 12 Volunteers out today

This section needs the cobble removed and a few steps

Knee pads are most helpful

With no big rocks available we get creative

On another section, we start removing invasive plants

Rich brings a tool that makes that somewhat easier

There is a lot to be removed

The trail will soon follow this old woods road

We are rebuilding this section
incorporating running steps

A bright Saturday morning
and a large crew of 18 Volunteers today

Picking up where we left off yesterday
making a smoother path

And Len, well he's just happy to be back

Marty starts clearing a pathway on the old woods road

And Chris made a path through two blow downs

On the woods road, Peter and Matti
discover a clogged drain pipe

Peter demonstrates the pipe
is clogged right to the end

He quickly clears it and gets the whole rock bar in

Next he clears the debris from the other end

Finally they clear the excess dirt etc.
to support good drainage

Rich takes over and hardens the channel

are clearing out invasive plants

We are making great progress

Stephanie and Kate are making buckets of crush

while Howie makes it stable

Without a highline, we are using a rope puller
to move big rocks

Bob has the next step already in a sling

And Stephanie uses the rope puller
to drag it to the trail

To help it along,
Bob uses muscle and Dan uses a rock bar

By the end of the day
the trail is looking pretty good

These new steps are solid, stable and very sustainable

On the old woods road,
a clear path is beginning to emerge

Back at the parking lot, Len has provided
watermelon, brownies and some shade
